Made with British sheep's wool, Thermafleece CosyWool Roll is easy to install between and over joists; ideal for insulating floors and lofts.

Thermafleece CosyWool Roll is made using a wool rich blend of fibres that are thermally bonded to maximise durability and prevent slumping in service. Research shows that this combination outperforms products with a higher percentage of wool. This ensures you get the full benefit of sheep’s wool with enhanced breathability, durability and sustainability.

Wool is an incredible natural fibre; as a sheep’s fleece grows, it removes carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. When used as insulation, wool binds and fixes many airborne chemicals that can be harmful to us, contributing to a healthier indoor environment. What’s more, insulating with Thermafleece is one of the most effective ways to make significant energy savings in your building.

Comes in a convenient compressed form, which reduces transport impacts by up to 50% compared with other natural fibre insulation. This also makes it quick and easy to install. Once unpacked, the rolls regain their original thickness to provide excellent thermal and acoustic performance.

Thermafleece CosyWool Roll is both vapour open and breathable, allowing the insulation to buffer moisture during periods of high humidity.

Installation

CosyWool rolls are non-hazardous and can be handled without gloves or protective clothing; it is not irritating to the skin, eyes or respiratory tract. When installing in enclosed, non-aerated spaces such as lofts, we recommend wearing appropriate protective equipment including a dust mask.

To retain the benefits of breathability, Thermafleece CosyWool Roll may be used in conjunction with a vapour permeable underlay.

Store insulation under cover and clear of the ground. Once unpacked, protect from prolonged exposure to sunlight, rain and other sources of wetting.

Cutting Tips

How to cut Thermafleece British wool insulation

Thermafleece CosyWool Roll can be safely and easily torn apart. For a more accurate edge use the 'roll and cut' or clamp methods.

‘Roll and cut’ method tools required: thick pen, sharp scallop-edged knife or insulation saw.

  1. To cut an accurate length with a neat edge:
    1. Roll the insulation as tightly as possible along the width.
    2. Measure and mark with a thick pen, then use the insulation saw or knife to cut through.
  2. To cut an accurate width with a neat edge:
    1. Roll the insulation as tightly as possible along the length.
    2. Measure and mark with a thick pen, then use the insulation saw or knife to cut through.

Clamp method tools required: two pieces of solid 15mm board, sharp scallop-edged knife or insulation saw, large scissors or shears.

  1. Tightly compress or clamping the insulation between two pieces of solid 15mm board.
  2. Overhang the insulation where you want to cut, keeping the two board edges aligned.
  3. Cut against the edge using the insulation saw or knife, keeping the blade firm and square against both board edges throughout.
  4. Trim any fine remaining fibres with large scissors or shears.
