Insulation is key

Insulation is key to retaining heat and lowering carbon emissions. The average UK gas boiler emits more Co2 equivalent emissions in a year than seven transatlantic flights (nesta.org.uk).

A quarter of heat is lost through the roof in an uninsulated home, so start at the top. Thermafleece, made with sheep’s wool from British farmers, has been available for 20 years and now offers a range of other products including plant-based Natrahemp. A well insulated home stays warm in winter, cool in summer.
