Help create healthy comfortable homes with the natural properties of wool. Thermafleece CosyWool and UltraWool harness the unique properties of British wool to provide versatile, durable, and highly effective insulation.

Available in a wide range of sizes to suit any project, our wool blends offer a sustainable way to save energy and reduce costs for decades to come. By choosing Thermafleece, you aren’t just insulating your home, you’re supporting British farmers and our local manufacturing heritage.

Carbon capture and storage – the natural way

It’s quite simple. Grass removes carbon from the atmosphere, sheep eat that grass, and it is naturally converted into wool. By turning that wool into insulation, you ensure the carbon remains safely captured for decades. Once the wool is shorn, it regrows and the cycle begins again, effectively turning homes into a carbon sinks. Plus, by significantly reducing your energy use, you’re lowering both your carbon footprint and your energy bills for years to come.

Science meets nature

Though it isn’t visible, loft insulation is constantly subject to movement. Over time, this can cause fibres to dislodge and the material to slump, leading to gaps in thermal performance. This is why our manufacturing process is so critical. By opening the wool fibres and thermally bonding them, we create a uniform matrix that ensures structural stability. The result is consistent, high-performance insulation that remains effective for decades. The binder we use is polyester which is why our insulation is less than 100% wool but it’s a vital component for long term performance.

Truly breathable Insulation

In the building world, ‘breathability’ is often misunderstood. Truly breathable insulation requires more than being vapour open; it must also be able to buffer moisture. When it comes to this dual performance, nothing surpasses wool. In fact, sheep’s wool is the only natural fibre used in insulation specifically designed by nature to keep things warm, cool, and comfortable.

Wool is a truly unique material that insulates, captures carbon, and balances humidity – helping create comfortable, healthy homes

We are great fans of Thermafleece CosyWool sheep’s wool insulation & have used it for approximately 20yrs. It is so much more than a quilt insulation. It’s ability to control vapour within a structure is outstanding. Plus it’s so nice to handle!

Meets all insulation and regulation requirements beautifully. So much better than other man made alternatives. So much better to install. Far more healthy from many angles – especially installation – no irritating particles.

My loft was insulated with fibreglass, which required me to wear a face mask when entering the loft, and I needed to replace it.

As a sheep farmer, I looked into using sheep’s wool. I thought that this was the right thing to do environmentally, “walk the

Lovely to be using a natural product.  Not sure we had the right tools to cut it, but managed with scissors and persistence!  Used to insulate the summer house in the garden – feels very cosy in there now.

Insulating with UltraWool signigicantly reduces the amount of energy lost from the building envelope, reducing energy consumption and carbon dioxide released to the atmosphere
