Cow Mans Cottage
Project Outline:
The project is the ongoing renovation and restoration of an 1850s estate cottage located in Wadhurst, East Sussex. What was originally planned as a two-year project has evolved into a long-term restoration, ensuring the cottage is repaired sympathetically and correctly for the long term.
Project Summary:
After extensive research, it was important to us that we restored the cottage using materials that respect the age and construction of the building. Our aim has always been to ensure the cottage will last for another 175 years or more.
Design and Installation details:
We have used Thermafleece throughout the entire renovation over the past five years. Each room has been stripped back to brick as work has progressed, allowing us to insulate properly at each stage. Thermafleece CosyWool has been installed in both the walls and roof across the cottage.
Benefits:
- Using a natural insulation product was a key factor in our decision making
- Thermafleece is a British made product which supports local farmers
- Thermafleece CosyWool allows the building to breathe naturally which is essential in a property of this age
- Thermafleece provides excellent thermal performance and keeps the cottage warm during the winter months.
